Ella Soul Resort sits on Lizzie Villa Road, a quiet lane set back from Ella's main street, so the town's cafés and restaurants are only a short walk away while the evenings stay calm. Ella railway station is about 400 metres from the resort, and both Nine Arch Bridge and Little Adam's Peak are within reach on foot.
There are three room types: two Deluxe doubles, one with a terrace and one with a balcony and mountain views, and a Deluxe Family Room for up to four. Every room has air conditioning, a fan, a private bathroom with bath and shower, a flat-screen TV, a fridge and a kettle, plus extra-long beds.
Days start with breakfast, continental, full English or vegetarian, and the rooftop restaurant serves brunch, lunch, dinner and cocktails with views over the hills. Wi-Fi and on-site parking are free, and the tour desk helps organise walking and bike tours, a cooking class nearby and shuttle transfers.
All three room types at Ella Soul Resort are in the Deluxe category and share the same well-equipped base: air conditioning and a fan, a private bathroom with both bath and shower, free toiletries and a hairdryer, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a fridge, a tea and coffee maker, a desk and a seating area.
Beds are extra-long and each room has its own private entrance. The differences come down to size and outdoor space: the Deluxe Double Room and the Deluxe Family Room open onto a terrace, while the Deluxe Double Room with Balcony adds a balcony with mountain views.
Much of life at the resort revolves around food: breakfast comes continental, full English or vegetarian, the rooftop restaurant and bar serve brunch, lunch, dinner and cocktails, packed lunches are ready for long hiking days, and room service is there when you'd rather stay in.

Ella Soul Resort stands on Lizzie Villa Road in Ambagollapathana, a quiet pocket just behind Ella's main street. Cafés, rotti shops and restaurants are a few minutes' walk away, the Ella Spice Garden cooking school is almost next door, and the green hills that made Ella famous rise all around.
The nearest international airport is Mattala Rajapaksa International, about 88 km away, or roughly an hour and a half by car; Colombo's Bandaranaike International Airport is some 200 km away by road, which means a long drive up into the hills. Ella railway station, on the scenic hill-country line, is only about 400 metres from the resort. After cyclone damage in late 2025 the line has been reopening in sections, so check the current timetable before building your trip around the train. Buses link Ella with Kandy and Colombo, and tuk-tuks are the easiest way to get around town. The resort can arrange a paid shuttle, and parking is free on site if you're driving.
Nine Arch Bridge, the railway viaduct on the hill-country line, is around 25 minutes away on foot: go early in the morning for soft light and fewer people, and be patient, because trains rarely run to the minute. Little Adam's Peak, about 1.7 km away, is an easy hike with wide views over Ella Gap and Ella Rock, while Ella Rock itself is a tougher climb, best started early before the sun gets strong. Ravana Falls is about 15 minutes away by tuk-tuk. December to March brings the clearest skies for hiking; from June to September the hills are wetter and mistier, with the waterfalls at their fullest. Avoid mid-April if you can, when the Sinhala and Tamil New Year slows transport for several days.
